Mission:
The GSS addresses the capability gap within the forces to effectively engage targets, during day and at night, with the M320/M320A1 GLM.
Description:
The Grenadier Sighting System (GSS) features a Red Dot Sight with illuminated expanded reticle. It features a lightweight mount that easily attaches to the 0300 or 0900 positions of the MIL-STD-1913 rail mounted to a primary weapon. The GSS provides nighttime fighting capability through the use of an infrared aiming laser. It features an Organic Light Emitting Diode (OLED) display screen that varies in brightness by means of a built-in light sensor or through manual adjustment by the operator. A Rail Mount Assembly is designed to attach to the left or right side of the GSS Sighting Module to accommodate left- or right-hand mounting to a weapon. An additional mounting option, the Standalone Bracket, is provided for attachment of the GSS to the standalone M320 GL. The GSS utilizes several sensors and inputs to calculate the range to target for the selected firing table.
