Power

Description:
The Small Unit Power portfolio provides scalable power and battery-charging solutions for Company and below to keep Soldiers' electronic equipment operational during combat. By establishing a cohesive ecosystem of interoperable power sources and chargers, the portfolio streamlines power management from the individual Soldier to the platoon level. This approach reduces the logistical burden of carrying multiple, incompatible battery and charger types, ensuring that Soldiers can reliably power their critical systems by using a standardized suite of equipment or scavenging from various battlefield sources such as vehicles and solar panels.

Conformal Wearable Battery (CWB): This lightweight and flexible battery integrates onto a Soldier’s standard body armor and will not produce fire or explode if punctured. The CWB has a capacity of 150Wh of energy.

Squad Power Manager (SPM): A versatile charging kit that can replenish five CWBs in as little as three hours and can scavenge power from other sources. The SPM can take in up to 150 watts of input/scavenged power and recharge five CWBs in 3 -6 hours.

Universal Battery Charger (UBC): Provides a ruggedized option to recharge multiple batteries and USB devices at the PLT level. Capable of charging up to 6 CWBs at once, the UBC is available in both mounted and dismounted configurations.

Advanced Battery Charger (ABC): This 1,000W bulk charger can charge up to sixteen CWBs simultaneously and comes with 4 USB-A and 1 USB-C charging ports. The ABC is water resistant for 30 minutes with the lid closed.

The team is developing the Platoon Battery Charger which will serve as a direct replacement for the ABC and provide a weatherized capability.
