Description:
The Joint Effects Targeting System (JETS) is an Army-led, Joint-interest program to develop, procure, and field a one-person portable targeting system for Forward Observers (FOs) and Joint Terminal Attack Controllers (JTACs) in all operational environments.

JETS provides the dismounted FO and JTAC the ability to acquire, locate, mark, and designate targets for precision GPS guided and laser-guided munitions. It digitally transmits targeting data to the Joint forces through fires and close air support digital planning and messaging devices.

The JETS system addresses the capability gap for a lightweight, hand-held, highly accurate targeting system. It allows dismounted Soldiers to engage targets with precision munitions and provides crucial digital connectivity to request and control indirect fires and close air support from all Joint assets.
